Early Life and Career
Isabelle Yasmine Adjani was born on June 27, 1955, in Gennevilliers, a suburb of Paris, France, to parents Emma Augusta Gusti and Michael Georg Adjani. Her mother was a German of Jewish ancestry, while her father was an Algerian of Kabyle Berber and German descent. Adjani began her acting career at a young age, appearing in her first film at the age of 14.
Acclaim and Awards
Adjani went on to become one of the most acclaimed French actresses of all time. She has won five César Awards, the most prestigious film award in France, and has been nominated for two Academy Awards. In 1981, she became the only performer to win five Césars in a single year.
